DrinkAI ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using DrinkAI, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address (or a private relay address if you use Hide My Email). We do not support email/password sign-in and never see or store your Apple or Google password.

1.2 Profile Information

During onboarding you provide:

• Display name
• Weight, age, and gender (used to calculate your hydration goal)
• Activity level
• Drink preferences
• Profile photo (optional)

1.3 Drink Logs

Each time you log a drink (manually or via AI scan), we store: drink type, name, volume, caffeine, sugar, calories, alcohol percentage, hydration level, timestamp, and any notes you add.

1.4 Usage Data

We store streaks, achievement progress, and weekly summaries to power the app's features. We do not collect analytics, device fingerprints, advertising identifiers, or IP addresses.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Personalized hydration goals - Your weight, age, gender, and activity level are used to calculate your daily target using evidence-based formulas (IOM/EFSA standards).
• AI drink scanning - When you scan a drink, the photo is sent to our AI service to identify the beverage and estimate its nutritional content. Photos are processed in real time and not retained by the AI.
• Insights and recommendations - We analyze your drink history to generate weekly summaries, trends, and personalized suggestions.
• Achievements and streaks - We track your progress to award badges and maintain streak counts.
• Notifications - If enabled, we send local (on-device) reminders based on your progress. We do not use push notification services for marketing.

5. Data Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Your data is stored in Firebase Firestore with security rules that restrict access to your own account. Profile and drink photos are compressed before upload and served via Cloudinary's CDN. AI requests are proxied so that no third-party AI provider receives your IP address.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from the Profile screen in the app. When you delete your account:

• All Firestore data (profile, drink logs, achievements, weekly summaries) is permanently deleted.
• Uploaded photos are removed from Cloudinary.
• Your Firebase Authentication record is deleted.

7. Device Permissions

• Camera - Required for AI drink scanning. Only accessed when you tap the scan button.
• Photo Library - Optional, for selecting existing photos of drinks.
• Notifications - Optional, for hydration reminders and achievement alerts. All notifications are local (on-device).

8. Children's Privacy

DrinkAI is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of DrinkAI after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
